        Bosses have produced a modern-day drama about the fictional 19th Century detective and his sidekick.

        The first in the three-part series is called A Study In Pink – Conan Doyle’s first Holmes story was A Study In Scarlet.

        The show has been penned by Doctor Who writers Steven Moffat, 48, and 43-year-old Mark Gatiss.

        Asked if he was worried about upsetting Sherlock fans, Gatiss said: “If you don’t like it it’s fine because the character is one of the most filmed ever so there’ll be another one along soon.”
