We take so much for granted
Like going to school
Watching TV
Seeing a movie
Keeping warm at night
It's easy to forget that every day,
millions of people living in poverty
are fighting for their lives.
Progress is being made.
Tens of millions more kids in school.
Millions of people on life-saving AIDS medicine.
And Malaria deaths cut in half in countries all across Africa.
But more needs to be done.
This is not about charity.
It's about justice.
It's about equality.
Over the course of history, young people -- like us -- have made a difference.
We have changed laws.
We have broken barriers.
We have decided elections.
We can defeat extreme poverty and preventable disease.
By all working together across borders, time zones, cultures ...
Through awareness, advocacy and action.
As college students, you have the power to build a better future.
Create a buzz.
The more people talk, the more we can accomplish.
You and me, all of us.
Coming together as ONE.
Join us.

The spots were created by filmmaker Jesse Dylan who is known for a variety of films, music videos and the Emmy Award-winning "Yes We Can" Barack Obama campaign video collaboration with will.i.am. Jackson from Tropic Thunder.

Investments to fight extreme poverty and preventable disease in Africa have been delivering significant results in recent years. In 2002, only 50,000 people in Africa with HIV had access to life-saving AIDS medication, less than 1 percent of those in need. Today, thanks to targeted aid and African leadership, more than 3 million Africans with HIV have access to medication, 44 percent of those in need. That's a significant increase, though much more needs to be done.
Critical progress has also been made on malaria and education. In less than 2 years, thanks to expanded distribution of bednets and malaria medication, malaria deaths in Africa have been cut in half in countries like Ethiopia, Rwanda and Zambia. Between 1999 and 2006, 34 million additional children in Africa were enrolled in school for the first time.
