        　　伊丽莎白·巴雷特·巴朗宁Elizabeth Barrett Browning(1806-1861)，又称勃朗宁夫人或白朗宁夫人，是19世纪英国著名女诗人。15岁时，不幸骑马跌损了脊椎。从此，下肢瘫痪达24年。在她39岁那年，结识了小她6岁的诗人罗伯特·巴朗宁，她那充满哀怨的生命从此打开了新的篇章。
        　　她的诗歌创作的主题可以分为两个主要方面。一是抒发生活之情;二是争取妇女解放，反对奴隶制，暴露社会的弊端，表现了进步的理想。她的诗具有炽热充沛的感情和扣人心弦之力量，语句精练，才气横溢，大都带有较浓的感伤性质。
