Should parents send their kids to art classes?
Whether sending kids to art classes or not is a hot button. Almost all parents are prepared to send their kids to art courses, such as piano, painting and ballet. Especially, in the weekends or holidays, countless parents and their kids pour in various kinds of art classes.
The attitudes towards this phenomenon vary from person to person. Some people believe that art classes contribute disproportionately to kids’ future, as the careers of artistic elites, like Lang Lang, affirm. According to a recent survey, 83% of parents maintain that successes are put down to versatility. Consequently, they devote all time and money to sending their kids to art classes. “Make children succeed at all costs.” these people always say that.
However, this issue arouses much controversy. Other people argue that these courses would lead to heavy burdens and thus oppose to this practice. “We tremble for the kids’ overburden. They haven’t time to play or enjoy the childhood.” they insist. As some educators put it, “These art classes previously thought to benefit to kids’ future are actually children’s overburden.”
In my opinion, there is no doubt that art classes benefit to kids. However, we have to admit that those participating art classes suffer and scarify more often than other kids. In a word, if we send children to art courses, we should not only consider kids’ versatility, but also take their interest, time and energy into account. |
