                The sun is currently at its maximum - that point in its 11-year cycle where solar activity should be at its height. Usually scientists will expect to be seeing large numbers of sunspots and solar flares. But this time around the sun is surprisingly quiet. Scientists say it's a mini-maximum and it could stay this way for a number of years.太阳现在应处于高峰年，即应处于太阳活动11周期中的最高值。通常这时候科学家们应该能看到大量的太阳黑子和太阳耀斑，但现在太阳活动却相对衰弱。科学家称这是太阳活动中的极小期，而且这一状态将持续几年。
