12月09日：Adversity makes a man wise, not rich.患难不能使人富有，却能使人聪明。
1.adversity：n. 逆境，厄运，灾难
例如：A brave man smiles in the face of adversity.（勇敢者面对逆境微笑。）
We appreciate fellowship in prosperity and adversity.（我们赞赏甘苦与共的精神。）
12月10日：I'm in a hurry; I've no time to stay.我很忙，没有时间呆着了。
1.in a hurry：迅速地，匆忙地
例如：Please drive safely．I'm not in a hurry．（开车请注意安全。我并不赶时间。）
We tend to make mistakes when we do things in a hurry.（忙中不免出错。）
12月11日：This snow has come at the right time.这场雪来得很及时。
1.right：adj. 正常的，正确的，合适的
例如：He has the courage to speak out what he thinks right.（他敢于说出他认为正确的东西。）
She posted through the mist, trying to find the right path.（她透过大雾观看，试图找到合适的小路。）
12月12日：He enjoys posturing in front of an audience.他喜欢在观众面前装腔作势。
1.in front of：在…前面，当着…的面
例如：A wide stretch of land spreads in front of us.（我们面前是一片广阔的土地。）
She put the plate on the table in front of him.（她把盘子放在他前面的桌子上。）
12月13日：The news made little difference to his plans.这个消息对他的计划毫无影响。
1.make little difference：几乎不起作用
例如：The Italians make little difference between children, and nephews, or near kinsfolk.（意大利人在自己底子女及侄甥或近亲之间无所分别。）
It make but little difference whether you are commit to a farm or a county jail .（被关进农场或州监狱里都差不了多少。）
12月14日：A few days in bed and you'll be as right as rain.在床上躺个几天，你会好起来的。
1.as right as rain：完全正常，一切顺利，完全令人满意
例如：I was not at all well last weekend, but I'm as right as rain now.（上周末我很不舒服，可现在完全好了。）
Jane have a cold, but she 's as right as rain now.（珍得了感冒，可是她现在完全好了。）
12月15日：I’ll give you a buzz this evening.我今晚给你打个电话。
1.give somebody a buzz：给某人打电话
例如：I'll give her a buzz.（我会给她打个电话。）
Give me a buzz before you set off.（上路之前给我来个电话。）
