But first, China's northwest Gansu Province is still reeling from the effects of two powerful earthquakes that struck the region earlier this week. More than a hundred people were killed, and 800 injured. It's a stark reminder of the deadly power of China's earthquakes. In 2008, up to 90,000 people were killed in Sichuan Province. Amongst those affected was Liao Zhi, a 28-year-old dancer who lost her baby daughter and mother-in-law when their building collapsed. She also had to have both her legs amputated after spending over 20 hours trapped in the rubble.
