The 35-year old, who says she was a big movie buff back in the North, thinks films like Comrade Kim can change South Koreans' opinions of the North for the better. "When I see my South Korean friends watch North Korean movies they learn there's more than just propaganda. There's friendship, love and everyday life in North Korea too, and some movies show that." 东明淑原是朝鲜人，现已移居韩国。她在网上观看了此电影。35岁的她说自己在朝鲜时曾是个影迷，她认为像《飞吧，金同志》这样的电影可以使韩国人民对朝鲜的态度有所改善。她说：“当我看见韩国朋友看朝鲜电影时，他们可以从中知道朝鲜不是只有政治宣传，我们也有友谊、爱和日常生活。而一些朝鲜电影恰恰描写了这些。”
