He is not fit to command others that cannot command himself. 正人先正己。
1.Fit：（adj.）适合的，恰当的；健康的
例如：Your car isn't fit to be on the road!（你的车子还不适合上马路！）
2.Fit：（n.）适合，合身
例如：His experience fitted him perfectly for the job.（他的经验使他完全胜任这项工作。）

Have / throw a fit 大为震惊；大发脾气
As fit as a fiddle 非常健康的，感觉良好
3.Command：命令；指挥
例如：He commanded his men to retreat.（他命令手下撤退。）

If you want knowledge, you must toil for it. 要想求知，就得吃苦。
1.Must和Have to：这两个词均有：必须，不得不“之意。
Must通常表示命令，含强调语气，侧重主观性。
例如：You mustn't say things like that.（你千万别说那样的话。）
Have to通俗用语，指受客观条件或环境迫“不得不”做某事，突出客观性
例如：Sorry, I've got to go.（对不起，我必须走了。）
2.Toil：长时间或辛苦地工作/艰难缓慢地移动；跋涉
例如：The workers toiled all through the night.（工人们通宵达旦地辛勤劳动着。）

I can live for two months on a good compliment. 只凭一句赞美的话我就可以充实地活上两个月。
1.Live on：继续生活；以……为主食；靠……生活
例如：Live on one's salary（靠工资过活）
【补充词组】
1）Live with：承认，忍受（不愉快的事）
例如：I just had to learn to live with the pain.（我不得不学会忍受痛苦。）
2）Live for somebody/something：以……为主要生活目的；为……而活着
例如：Now he had someone to live for.（他现在要活下去，因为他有了心上人。）
2.Compliment：称赞，恭维
例如：to pay somebody a compliment（对某人表示赞扬）

Action is the only road to knowledge. 行动是通往知识的唯一道路。
1.Action：用作可数名词时，多用于复数形式。泛指人的“行为”
例如：His actions suggest that he is a fool.（他的行为表明他是个傻瓜。）
另表示：活动，举动，手段
例如：Actions speak louder than words.（事实胜于雄辩。）
2.Knowledge：了解，理解；知识，学识

Empty vessels make the best sounds. 满瓶不响，半瓶咣当。
1.Empty：空的，空虚的，空洞的
例如：My life seems empty without you.（没有你，我的生活似乎就没有了意义。）
2.Vessel：容器，器皿 ；大船，轮船；血管
例如：A Bronze Age drinking vessel（青铜器时代的饮具）
3.Make：制造，使得，造成
例如：To make a noise / mess / fuss（产生噪音/弄糟/小题大作）
4.Sound：声音；响声；音响
例如：As sound as a bell（健壮无恙）
另：Sound也可当动词，形容词用：
例如：I wanted to sound him out about a job.（我想就一项工作探探他的口风。）

Never put your trust in beautiful words. 切勿轻信漂亮话。
1.Never：从不，决不
例如：Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you.（麻烦没来找你，可别自找麻烦。）

You can never tell / You never can tell（谁也拿不准；谁也说不清；很难说）
2.Put one's trust in / Put no trust in sb：信任；信赖/不信任某人
例如：Children put their trust in their parents.（孩子们都相信自已的父母。）
3.Trust：信赖；受托基金机构
例如：A charitable trust（慈善基金机构）
4.Beautiful words：漂亮话
例如：Beautiful in words but poor in contents.（文过其实。）

Spam filters can remove a lot of unwanted advertising. 垃圾邮件过滤器可以移除那些讨厌的广告。
1.Spam：（非索要的）电邮广告
例如：Spam is easier to controll than with e-mail and text messages.（垃圾邮件也比Email和手机短信更容易控制。）
2.Filter：滤器；过滤器；走漏
例如：More details about the crash are filtering through.（空难的进一步详情慢慢传开了。）
3.Remove ：移开；拿开；去掉
例如：Illegally parked vehicles will be removed.（非法停放的车辆将被拖走。）
