【沪江网校公开课】听笑话 学地道英语(附讲义)

1月21日，沪江网校人气讲师Sue和主持人Ross一起为大家奉上了一场精彩新颖的英语公开课【鲜活英语之幽默英语轻松学】。公开课以英语笑话为素材，为大家讲解了英语幽默文化中的“笑点”、笑话中的地道词汇短语、还请大家朗读、点评了大家的发音！真是精彩纷呈，让同学边学边乐、大呼过瘾！沪江网校语音教室是神马>>

        刚刚我们已经提到，本次公开课的主角就是【英语笑话】。Sue老师一共为大家讲解了四则笑话，每一则都采用：听（笑话）→寻（笑点）→解（释义）→读（纠发音）→复习（夯实巩固）的方式讲解。四则笑话如下：
        （一）At a Department Store 在百货商店里
       
        A really huge muscular guy with a bad stutter goes to a counter in a department store and asks, “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?” 一个结巴壮汉走进一家百货公司问柜员：“男……男装部在……在哪儿？”
        The clerk behind the counter just looks at him and says nothing.柜台后的柜员看着他不搭话。
        The man repeats himself, “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?” Again, the clerk doesn’t answer him.那男人又重复道：“男装……装部在……在哪儿？”柜员还是不理他。
        The guy asks several more times, “W-w-w-where’s the m-m-m-men’s dep-p-p-partment?” And the clerk just seems to ignore him. Finally, the guy is angry and storms off. 壮汉问了好几遍柜员依旧如故。最后，壮汉气冲冲地走了。
        The customer who was waiting in line behind the guy asks the clerk, “Why wouldn’t you answer that guy’s questions?” 排在后面的顾客问那个柜员：“你怎么不答人家话呀？”
        The clerk answers, “D-d-d-do you th-th-th-think I w-w-w-want to get b-b-b-beat up?!!”柜员说：“你……你觉着我……我想找打……打是吧！？”
        【语言点讲解】
        1. muscular guy：肌肉男
        2. stutter & stammer：都是结巴的意思。但stammer强调因为激动、撒谎等外部原因做成说话磕磕巴巴。
        eg: He’s got a bad stammer/ stutter.
        3. a counter in a department store：商场的一个柜台
        4. storm off：气冲冲地离开
        5. wait in line/ stand in line/ 排队
        e.g A sea of people are queuing for tickets. 一大群人在排队买票。
        6. beat up 挨揍 / beat sb up 揍某人
        （二）I Am Going to Shop 我要去购物啦
       
        “Cash, check or charge?” I asked after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.我帮来购物的女士包好东西后，问道：“是付现金、支票还是记账呢？” 当她找钱包的时候，我注意到她的包包里竟放着一个电视遥控器。
        “Do you always carry your TV remote?” I asked.我问：“你一直都随身带电视遥控器的吗？”
        “No,” she replied. “But my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him.”她回答说：“不是啦。但我老公不乐意跟我一起来购物，所以我决定拿走他的遥控器来惩罚他。”
        【语言点讲解】
        1. Cash, check or charge? 现金，支票，还是记账？
        2. Fumble 摸索，笨手笨脚地找
        3. Stumble 蹒跚而行，绊住
        4. Mumble 咕哝，含糊地说
        Eg: Stop mumbling and speak up!
        5. Rumble 肚子咕咕叫
        6. TV remote/ remote control：遥控器
        7. But my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him. 意译：我老公不乐意跟我一起来购物，所以我决定（拿走他的遥控器）来惩罚他。

        （三）A young couple 一对年轻夫妇
       
        A young couple drove several miles down a country road, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument, and neither wanted to concede their position.一对年轻夫妇沿着一条乡村小路行驶，他们先前刚吵了一架，谁都不肯先妥协。
        As they passed a barnyard of mules and pigs, the husband sarcastically asked, “Are they relatives of yours?” 当他们驶过一群谷仓前的骡子和猪时，丈夫讽刺地问：“那些都是你亲戚？”
        “Yes,” his wife replied. “I married into the family.” 妻子答道：“是啊，我嫁进他们家了嘛。”
        【语言点讲解】
        1. had led to an argument：导致了一场争论
        2. concede their position：妥协、让步
        3. barnyard of mules and pigs
        4. relatives：亲戚
        5. “I married into the family.” 我嫁进了这家。
        可以说：Get married to someone / Be married to someone
        不能说：marry with someone ×
        eg: Lilei and Hanmeimei are married.
             Lilei and Hanmeimei got married.
        （四）Sweep the Floor 扫地
       
        “Your first job will be to sweep the floor.” “你的第一项工作就是扫地。”
        “But I’m a college student.” The young man replied.“我可是个大学生啊！”年轻人答道。
        “In that case, give me the broom—I’ll show you how.”“这样啊，那给我扫帚——我先做一遍给你看。”
        【语言点讲解】
        1. sweep the floor：扫地（网络名人扫地老太>>）
        2. in that case：这样的话、在这种情况下
        3. I’ll show you how. 我做给你看、给你演示怎么做。
