We studied for final exams for hours on end. 我们连续花了好几小时准备期末考。
1.Final exam：期末考试
例如：A grade depending on the results of the final exam.（分级由期终考试的结果而定。）
常见词组：
Cross-examine （尤指在法庭上就对方提供的证词进行）盘问，反诘
Physical examination 体检
2.For hours on end：连续几个小时；一连几个小时
例如：She will talk for hours on end.（她总是滔滔不绝地一讲就是几小时。）
3.On end：连续不断
例如：He would disappear for weeks on end.（他常常是连续几周不见人影。）

Hurry up, or else you'll be late. 快点,否则你要迟到了。
凡是催人动作快点儿，否则要迟到了的情况下，可以使用此句。换言之：You must leave now, or else you'll be late.（你必须现在走，要不然会迟到的。）
1.Hurry up：快点儿
例如：Hurry up, or you will miss the train.（快点，不然你会赶不上火车。）
2.Or else：要不然；否则
例如：Stop smoking now, or else your health will be ruined.（别再抽烟了，否则你会毁了自己的健康。）

1.Take a chance：冒险
例如：We will take a chance to have the party outdoor.（我们将冒险举行露天聚会。）

常见词组：
Be no picnic：可不容易；不是件轻松的事
例如：Bringing up a family when you're unemployed is no picnic.（失了业还要养家可不是容易的事。）

1.Fall out (with somebody)：与（某人）闹翻；起纠纷
