Hard Day's Night was the first big one I did. I had the benefits of having a director who was a musician, Dick Lester, who was quite a good pianist. And of course, we recorded the special songs for the film as we'd just do ordinary recordings. And Dick used a lot of the songs I'd already recorded, you know, the past albums Can't Buy Me Love already had been recorded, for example.
I had one mind that wrote books or funny stories, and another mind that churned out things about "I love you and you love me", cos that's how Paul and I did it, you know. Like, oh, you know, "Let's write another of them."
The very first records we made were just on two tracks, and then we had the great advance of four tracks. We were able to overdub, start putting secondary voices on, and guitar solos at a later stage, that kind of thing.《Hard Day's Night》是我创作的第一首金曲，我很幸运，有位音乐家一直指导我。迪克•莱斯特，一位优秀的钢琴家。当然，我们也为电影特别录制了一些歌曲，和我们平时的录法一样。迪克也用了很多我们已经录制完成的歌曲，之前的一些专辑  比如《Can't Buy Me Love 》。这首歌就是之前已经录制过的。
我大脑里一边想着写书或笑话，另一边却不断涌现出类似于“我爱你，你爱我”之类的乱七八糟的东西。我和保罗就是这样把这首歌创作出来的。就像“好吧，我们再重新写吧”
我们最初录制的唱片都只是双音轨，后来就开始发展到有四音轨了。我们可以做混音，加上一些和声之类的东西，以及后期的吉他独奏，等等。
