Arizona authorities say somebody tried sending a mail bomb to Sheriff Joe Arpaio. If it’d been opened, it could have caused serious injury or even death. The package was discovered and neutralized on the way to Arpaio’s office.
Secretary of State John Kerry is warning North Korea not to test-fire its new mid-range missile. Kerry is visiting South Korea amid fears that the North is preparing to retaliate for what it claims are war games by the U.S. and South Korea.
Connecticut police say robbers stole $4 million worth of jewelry from a Fairfield jewelry store. They say the robbers first staged a home invasion to kidnap two store employees so they could get into the store safe. The victims are unharmed.
Edible artistry, more than 100 cakes and 80 stalls are showcased at the Cake International Show in London. Competition cakes are judged in various categories from best decorated celebration cakes to international cakes. The annual competition ends Sunday.
