答疑:lsy34Now back in the glory days when the eurozone wasn't buckling under a mountain of debt and haunted by doubts about its very existence, it was quite fashionable for politicians in Brussels to muse about total, political union, that ultimate dream that the continent might one day become a single entity rival in size and power to the United States of America. But that was then. Germany may still be singing the federalist tune, but most of the parties topping the polls in the current French and Greek election campaigns clearly disagree. And there are many others like them across the union. Given the turmoil, what do businesses think though?
Last week, the French employers' association, Medef, stepped up with a robust defence of the federalist idea. Marie-Christine Oghly, president of Medef for the Ile de France region and head of the French association of female business leaders, stepped into our Paris studio to tell me more.
