辨析英语近似词汇：notable，noted

　　notable，noted
        　　这一对形容词都有“著名的”、“知名的”含义，但词义有细微的差异，故使用场合有所不同。
        　　★Notable 的意思是“显著的”或“值得注意的”(remarkable or deserving
notice)。经常与它搭配使用的词有speaker、event、artist、performance、painter、law、affair、
man、woman等。用作名词时，意为“名士”、“名物”。其同义形容词是conspicuous、striking或eminent、
renowned;其同义名词为celebrity.例：
        　　There is a notable(conspicuous)scar on his upper lip.
        　　他的上唇有一个很显眼的伤疤。
        　　Mr.Song is a notable(=an eminent person).
        　　宋先生是个知名人士。
        　　★Noted 是个中性词，既可用于好的意味指著名的(renowned)，如：noted musician、noted doctor、noted
actor、noted statesman;也可用于坏的意味指恶名昭著的(notorious)，如：noted tyrant、noted
bandit.从下列一个例句中，便可看出它所指的不一定是好人好事：
        　　Charles James Fox，the noted statesman，was a notorious gambler.
        　　查尔斯·J·福克斯，一个知名的政治家，却是个声名狼藉的赌徒。
