华特·迪士尼（ Walter Elias Disney 1901.12.5.—1966.12.15）美国著名导演、制片人、编剧、配音演员和卡通设计者，并且和其兄洛伊·迪士尼 (Roy O. Disney)一同创办了世界著名的华特迪士尼公司。华特·迪士尼是一个成功的故事讲述者，一个实践能力很强的制片和一个很普通的艺人。他和他的职员一起创造了许许多多世界上最有名的最受欢迎的角色，包括那经常被提及的称得上是华特好友的米老鼠。

In 1955, Walt Disney opened an entertainment park not far from Hollywood, California. He called it "Disneyland". He wanted it to be the happiest place on earth. Disneyland recreated imaginary places from Disney movies. It also recreated real places... as Disney imagined them. For example, one area looked like a 19th century town in the American West. Another looked like the world of the  future. Disneyland also had exciting rides. Children could fly on an elephant. Or spin in a teacup. Or climb a mountain. Or float on a jungle river. And - best of all - children got to meet Mickey Mouse himself. Actors dressed as Mickey and all the Disney cartoon creatures walked around the park shaking hands.
