全文听写(以音频为准),英式拼写

        Hints:
        Appian Way
        catacomb
        最后那句里写in this city
And this idea of what is and isn't sacred space has influenced the way the entire city has been laid out. It's why one of the main thoroughfares into Rome, the Appian Way, is lined with tombs, but only up to a certain point. They stop the moment you enter the city itself. It's also why the tombs of the early Christians, the catacombs, are on the outskirts and not in the centre.
But the sacred space in Rome wasn't just what you saw around you, it also extended beneath your feet, right underground.
Deep below Rome is one of its most secret and holy sites.
It's a network of sewers, but they weren't just to wash away the effluents of the Romans. Like everything else in this city, they also had a sacred purpose.
