        　　The trend of semicolon tattoos was started by ProjectSemicolon. It
encourages people to draw (or tattoo) semicolonson their bodies as a way of
presenting hope and love to thosestruggling with depression, anxiety, suicide,
self-harm and otherforms of mental illness.
        　　分号纹身的潮流最初由“分号项目”发起，鼓励人们在身上画或是纹上“分号”，借此向那些正与抑郁、焦虑、自杀倾向、自残等精神疾病抗争的人们传达希望和关爱的讯息。
        　　Project Semicolon’s website explains the idea behind the tattoo: “A
semicolon is used when anauthor could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose
not to. The author is you and thesentence is your life.”
