        Red carpets and golden statues! Preparations for the Academy Awards are now rigorously underway! And the host of the night Seth MacFarlane is also getting ready. He’s also a first-time nominee for original song, with his comedy hit "Ted."
        Seth MacFarlane may be the hardest working man in show business -- at least for this week. Right now he’s getting ready to host Sunday’s Academy Awards, and he’s also producing, writing and voicing three animated TV shows. But no hectic schedule can take away his sense of humor.
        Seth Macfarlane, Oscar Host, said, "I know that my hosting duties will have been successful when the evening doesn’t end with me locked in a castle surrounded by villages with torches and pitchforks. That’ll be a victory."
        Meanwhile, workers rolled out the red carpet covering the arrivals area on Wednesday. Rain delayed the proceedings by half an hour. Weather forecasters are predicting a sunny and mild Oscar Sunday.
        Oscar statues have also been placed on the red carpet - a marker that Hollywood’s biggest night is just around the corner.
        The 85th annual Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard and will be telecast live on Sunday, February 24.
