Chicago, was playing without former MVP Derrick Rose, who is still trying to recover from blowing out his knee last year, hosted the San Antonio Spurs, who would be without their big three of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
But in their absence it would be Kawhi Leonard that would step-up for the league-leading Spurs.

But the Bulls would take the lead thanks to the play of Marco Bellini, his play off the bench helps put Chi-town up four in the second Q. San Antonio would turn the tide in third quarter and go up by a double-digits. Boris Diaw getting the runner to fall in the lane.
Then Danny Green knocks down the triple and the Spurs are up 13.The Bulls make a run to start the fourth quarter and pull within a single point.
But the veteran Spurs get a lift from Kawhi Leonard he leads the fast break and San Antone is back up by 11.
And then he beats his man and gets to the rim. He finished with a career high 26 points as the Spurs pick up a 103-89 victory.
And in other action Monday Brooklyn needed overtime to get past Indiana. Minnesota downed Cleveland to end an 8-game road losing streak. Byron Mullens scored 25 points and had 18 rebounds as Charlotte ended Boston’s seven game win streak. The Clippers cruised past Philly. New Orleans and Washington both picked up wins. And Atlanta edged past Dallas 105-101. |
