Sean Johnson is in an advanced mixing class -- his final course at the Beat Refinery. He's been taking evening classes at the DJ school outside Washington for about two years. By day, he works as an audio engineer.
"I don't do that full-time anymore. I'm slowly working my way into being a full-time DJ. It's really just kind of making a dream come to life."
12-year-old Ethan Feinberg has been taking classes here for a year and a half.
"Well, I want to be a DJ when I'm older, and I really like music. And it's fun."
"We have from ten year olds all the way up to 50 year olds. Women, men, all nationalities, sometimes we've had students that can't even speak English but there's the music that brings them together." Long time DJ Chris Stiles co-founded the Beat Refinery in 2010.  It is the only DJ school in the Washington area.

“我们的学生下至10岁，上至50岁，男的，女的，各个国籍的，有时候我们甚至还有不会说英语的学生，但是是音乐让他们聚在了一起。” 资深DJ克里斯•斯蒂尔斯说。他在2010年参与共同创立了节拍精炼厂。这是华盛顿地区唯一的DJ学校。
“我们感觉到市场对这种学校有需求，因为在当今世界，不管是在婚礼上还是在酒吧, 服装店，你都可以看到DJ的身影，DJ已经成为一份很吃香的工作。”
