"I just like holding the pages and reading it."
The look of these pages hasn't changed much, but owner Ryan Liebowitz says something new is happening.
"In the last year or so we've seen a major transition into digital comic books."
The idea of reading a comic book online is catching on. Comixology has over 25,000 comic books in its online store, says Chip Mosher, its vice president of marketing, public relations and business development.
"For the last six to nine months we've ranked as the top-grossing iPad app in entire iTunes app store."
Last year, the company sold 19 million online comics. This year it expects to sell 70 million. For about the same price as a paper comic book, readers get a digital version.
Many in the industry are experimenting with the look of digital comics.

"And on the page turn, we blur out the hem, we sharpen on the background. We see a sea of piranha coming out of hem, a school of piranha. Oh look, fish!"
Mark Waid created the digital comic site, Thrillbent. He says his comics fit the digital screen.

"Most screens - whether they're television screens, your laptop screen, or your iPad screen are, you know, are that landscape format - they're wider than they are tall. 在网上看漫画的概念当下正热。Comixology的市场营销，公共关系及业务发展的副总裁Chip Mosher 说，他们的网上书店里已经有了超过两万五千本漫画。“在过去的六到九个月里，我们在整个iTunes应用程序商店里被评为最赚钱的iPad应用程序。”
去年，该公司的在线漫画销售额达1900万册，而今年的预期销售额高达7000万册。以和纸质漫画差不多的价格，读者就可以买到电子版本。
许多业内人士正在对电子漫画的外观进行试验。
“在翻页处，我们模糊了书页的边缘，突出背景。（此处说话人指着iPad在演示视频）我们看到一群水虎鱼从页边又出来了，一群水虎鱼。哦看呀，鱼！”
马克创造了电子漫画网站Thrillbent。他说他的漫画适合数码设备的屏幕。“大多数屏幕，无论是电视屏幕还是你的笔记本电脑的屏幕，亦或是你的iPad屏幕，都是横向式的，也就是说宽度大于高度。所以首先要停止制造那些不符合这种规格的电子漫画。”
