If you are a frequent flyer in China, here’s a piece of good news for you. Some domestic airlines have announced cuts in their air fuel surcharges, effective as of Thursday.
Industry insiders said that most domestic airlines are already consistent with changes of fuel surcharges and expect other airlines will follow the trend.
According to the new policy, as for those travelling more than a distance of 800 kilometres, the surcharge will be cut by 30 yuan to 100 yuan, or 15.8 US dollars. In the meantime, for an adult passenger travelling a route no more than 800 kilometres, the fuel surcharge will be reduced to 50 yuan, 20 yuan lower from the previous level.
Children passengers will also be entitled to a 10 yuan surcharge cut. The announcements came after the country’s domestic aviation fuel prices were lowered to 6,724 yuan per ton on Monday, from 7,464 yuan per ton. |
