Gunther Gebel-Williams and his animals traveled across the United States with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus for more than 20 years. He was the most famous circus performer in the nation. Gunther Gebel-Williams started working with animals as a child in Germany. He became famous as a circus performer and animal trainer in Europe. Mr. Williams came to the United States in 1968. He became an American citizen in 1976.
