The North Korean government has committed to abandoning all nuclear weapons and to return at an early date to the Treaty on Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. We continue to hold them to those commitments. If North Korea is genuinely prepared to completely and verifiably eliminate their nuclear weapons program, the Obama Administration will be willing to normalize bilateral relations, replace the peninsula's longstanding armistice agreements with a permanent peace treaty, and assist in meeting the energy and other economic needs of the North Korean people.北韩政府已承诺放弃全部核武器，尽早重新加入《不扩散核武器条约》(Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons)。我们继续要求他们履行上述承诺。如果北韩有诚意地准备全面地、可核实地取消其核武器项目，奥巴马政府愿意实现双边关系正常化，以一项永久性的和平条约取代朝鲜半岛多年来的停火协议，并帮助满足北韩人民的能源及其他经济需求。
