最早接触“姐弟恋”这说法，还是从“锋菲恋”开始的。当时这个词的轰动效应不知比现在要大多少倍，天后的音乐才华和着装打扮本来就在娱乐圈独领风骚，那时连恋情都酱紫另类特别，自然是娱乐圈重磅八卦新闻不能放过的对象。这段相差十一岁的恋情，在吸引人们眼球的同时，也使不少人越发地喜欢起王菲这个人，还有她的率性而为和敢爱敢恨。那“姐弟恋”的英文说法是什么呢？按字面意思我们可以这样描述：an older woman dating a younger man.
后来N年间，明星们时有爆出的“姐弟恋”已经让人们习以为常了。麦当娜、莎朗·斯通纷纷现身说法，很多恋人甚至早已修成正果。当年Demi Moore和Ashton Kutcher结婚的时候女方42岁，男方才27岁，算是好莱坞挑战传统婚姻模式的典型代表了。几年后有则消息这样描述：As Hollywood's best-known 'cougar', Demi Moore has become the envy of millions.（作为好莱坞最著名的“吃嫩草”熟女，黛米·摩尔成为万千女性羡慕的对象。）不过也有不少英国女孩儿表示，她们对黛米·摩尔年轻英俊的老公并不感兴趣，相比之下，她们更渴望拥有像这个47岁女星那样年轻、健美的身材：But while British women may wish for the 47-year-old's youthful, toned figure, it seems they do not hanker after her toy boy husband, 31-year-old Ashton Kutcher.
那就再来学两个流行词汇好了，“小老公”的说法是：toy boy husband；迅速蹿红各大花边新闻和交友网站的cougar 一词，原是“美洲豹”的意思，后来专门被用来替代“熟女”，是指：an middle-aged women who dates considerably much younger men. 因为黛米·摩尔、麦当娜和莎朗·斯通都有过“姐弟恋”，这一潮流甚至还催生了一部热门电视连续剧《熟女镇》。（Demi Moore, Madonna and Sharon Stone are all in relationships with younger men, and the trend has even sparked a hit television series, Cougar Town.）现如今 “姐弟控”就是指特别喜欢cougar dating的人。
关于这Cougar phenomenon女大男小现象的影片有很多，最新的一部是2010年凯瑟琳·泽塔琼斯主演的The Rebound，片名中文翻译过来就是《姐弟恋》。对于这个现象，CNN有则消息的标题曾这样写道：Older women and younger men: Can it Work? 老妻少夫到底靠不靠谱呢？我看要由时间来回答。消息中说：high-profile Hollywood couples like Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins (12 years her junior) -- who met and began dating while filming an on-screen romance -- have proven that life can indeed imitate art when it comes to matters of the heart.
这里又有几个学习看点：形容谁比谁年轻，除了大家都会的：He is 12 years younger than her. 还可以这么翻译：He is 12 years her junior；He is her junior by 12 years; He is 12 years junior to her. 另外，When it comes to matters of the heart，说到内心感受，都是冷暖自知的，哪是这些外在条件就可以左右的呢。这不禁让我想起《老友记》中Phoebe16岁的弟弟恋上44岁家政课女老师的那集，就有句经典台词:When it comes to love, what does age matter. （在爱情的世界里，年龄又算的了什么呢？)）这说法像极了我们平时常说的：身高不是距离，年龄不是问题，如果以此类推翻译的话，岂不是：when it comes to love, what does height difference matter? When it comes to initial attraction, what does age matter? （说到爱情这一话题，年龄差age difference，身高差height difference都算不了什么）。也有人会这么说：what’s height difference got to do with love?（身高差对爱情有什么关联和影响呢。）
既然说到“熟女”，就不能不提“剩女”（spinster） 。这一说法的英文解释是：A spinster, or "old maid", is a heterosexual woman so selective about finding a mate -- or so disinterested in being in a romantic relationship-- that she remains unmarried and childless past the conventional age for marrying. 它的另外一种说法是：a leftover lady。Leftover表示剩菜剩饭剩余物，有点“老大一把年纪了还没人要”的感觉。那阵子看《败犬女王》，我又跟着学会了“败犬”这个词。这说法源自日本女作家酒井顺子的散文集《败犬的远吠》，In Taiwan, a synonym for leftover lady is "loser dog" because a Japanese writer wrote that "a woman is a loser dog if she is over thirty, single and without children, even though she is beautiful and successful". So this term is used for single women who are well-educated, well-paid and independent.）我个人喜欢“败犬”大过于“剩女”，因为败犬代表的是30岁以上，高收入、高学历、事业成功、生活独立但无感情归宿的女子，比起“剩女”要优越许多。
再来说说和“老妻少夫”对应的“老夫少妻”现象。说起这个话题，当年最爆炸的新闻要属杨振宁娶翁帆、邓文迪嫁默多克了吧。用英文翻译这叫：May and December Romance。其中May指年少的女方，December指年老的男方，所以May-to-December marriage也是类似的意思。还有种翻译叫“cradle snatcher”，通俗点儿就是“老牛吃嫩草”的意思，举个例子，Tom is a cradle snatcher就是指Tom总爱和自己年龄相差悬殊的人谈恋爱。有人曾过咨询情感专家：Is 10-12 years really that much of a gap?（差十到十二岁真的会有很大鸿沟吗？）我看还真是得具体问题具体分析。你瞧人家杨振宁和翁帆相差54岁的gap dating都没问题，十几岁的差距搞不好也算不了什么。
以前台湾偶像剧里常出现“小开”这称谓，其实就是咱大陆版“富家子、富二代”的说法。英文中，这叫richling，再拽点儿的说法就是princeling（太子党）。这些人都是生来就口含金汤匙（born with a silver spoon in mouth），不知比普通人少奋斗多少年。娱乐圈女明星比如大小S、林熙蕾、侯佩岑啊什么的，不少选择和richlings谈恋爱然后嫁入豪门，英文的说法就是：marry into the purple；marry into money或是marry into wealth。
从前那会流行速配（speed dating），听到“师生恋”（Love between a teacher and a student）和“黄昏恋”（romance of the elderly/ romance in the sunset years）都感觉挺另类的。现如今可好，人们生活讲究快节奏，竟是玩“闪婚”（instant marriage）、“闪离”（instant divorce）和闪孕（以梁洛施为代表）的。你看这“instant”一词多贴切啊，instant noodle叫速食面，instant love叫速食爱情，不知婚姻也成速食的了靠不靠谱？虽说我有质疑吧，但我们同学里也有一毕业就结婚，选择了marriage upon graduation,然后摇身一变成了“闪孕族”（the rush-to-get- pregnant tribe）的，有些人的孩子都能打酱油了，看似也挺幸福的。所以说哩，关键还在于要选对人才行。
俺这人说事情思维太发散，一总结八卦消息里的热词就有点儿收不住。还是赶紧停下表跑题的好。休息……休息一会，一休哥！
