这里用到的sweep 这个词表示“赢得完全胜利/压倒性的胜利to win a complete or overwhelming victory in
(a contest)”，比如：Johnson swept the presidential election of 1964.
约翰逊在1964年总统选举中赢得压倒性的胜利。
Sweep 还可以表示“赢得(比赛或竞赛)每一阶段的胜利to win (every game, round, hand, etc., of a
series of contests)”，比如：The Yankees swept the three-game series.
洋基队连着三场比赛大获全胜。
也有的新闻是这样写的：
Obama won a landslide victory with 349 electoral votes while McCain only
got 162 votes. A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win the White House. US

这里的landslide 是指“一面倒的胜利，特质一个政党或候选人的压倒多数的胜利”，landslide victory，landslide win
都表示“压倒性的胜利”，与之相配和的动词既可以用win，也可以用score，比如我们上文中的两个例子。当然我们也可以说“Obama won the
presidential election with a landslide victory.” |
