North Korea is to switch to a new time zone to mark its liberation from the Japanese at the end of World War Two, says state media.朝鲜官方媒体宣布，朝鲜将调整所在时区，以纪念二战末从日本统治下获得解放。
North Korea is currently in the same time zone as South Korea and Japan, which are nine hours ahead of GMT.目前朝鲜和日韩两国同处东九区。
But Pyongyang Time will see the clocks put back by 30 minutes on 15 August.8月15日，平壤时间将向后调整30分钟。
State news agency KCNA said "wicked Japanese imperialists" had "deprived Korea of even its standard time" by changing the clocks during occupation.朝鲜官方新闻机构朝中社称“邪恶的日本帝国主义者”通过在占领期间更改时间“剥夺了韩国自己的标准时间”。

KCNA quoted officials as saying the decision to adopt Pyongyang Time reflected "the unshakeable faith and will of people on the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation".朝中社援引领导人关于使用平壤时间的讲话称，这表明了“朝鲜解放70周年纪念之际人民不可动摇的决心和意志”。
South Korea said the move could cause some short-term inconvenience at the Kaesong industrial plant in North Korea, jointly run by the two Koreas.韩国认为这一举措将在开城工业园造成短暂的不便。该工业园位于朝鲜，由朝韩两国共同运营。
"And in the longer term, there may be some fallout for efforts to unify standards and reduce differences between the two sides," Unification Ministry official said.韩国统一部官员称，“长期来看，这将对统一标准、减少双方差异的努力造成影响。”
There is no international body that approves a country's change of time zone as countries decide for themselves.更改时区并不由国际机构批准，各国可以自行决定。
