实用英语：“异性恋”

　　谈起“同性恋”的表达，您一定会脱口而出
——“gay”嘛!或者，“homosexual”;或者，“女同志”专用“lesbian”。那么，“异性恋”呢?
        　　先看《中国日报》一段有关中国同性恋影片的相关报道：
        　　The straight definitely became the minority at a cheesy bar, dimly lit in
pink, in downtown Beijing Friday night, where the shooting of the Heart of
Crystal, China's first ever grassroots gay film was heralded to the mostly gay
100-odd audience.
        　　报道中的“straight”在此与“gay”相对应，指的是“(I'm) not gay”(异性恋)。
        　　“异性恋”较为正式的说法是“heterosexual”，与“homosexual”相对应。这里，我们可以记下两个前缀“hetero-(相异的，不同的)”和“homo-(相同的)”，如：homogeneous(相同的)、heterogeneous(各种各样的)。
        　　此外，“straight”在俚语中也可指“不吸毒的”，I wish I had some dope. I haven’t been straight
this long in years.(我真希望有些麻醉剂。几年来，我还不曾这么长时间不吸毒。)
        　　值得一提的是，俚语中，同性恋的说法还有很多，如这篇报道的标题“We’re here, we’re queer and we’re proud of
it”，其中“queer”指的就是“同性恋”。
