It proved to be a busy day on Tuesday with more than 70 matches scheduled as shuttlers were battling to advance in both men’s and women’s singles, plus doubles action.
World No. 1 Wang Yihan was taking on Indonesian Aprilla Yuswandari. Wang, the Olympic champion who was battling against injury the last month, struggled to win the first set 21-15.
The second set was even harder for her when Yuswandari took a 19-18 lead. But the Indonesian would then hit long on three conseuctivepoints, handing the victory to Wang Yihan 21-19. |
