According to an official from the China-Japan Friendship Association, the ceremony to mark the 40th year anniversary of the normalizationof diplomaticrelations between China and Japan, which was scheduled to take place on Sept. 27, will be postponed.
An exact date hasn’t been announced. The announcement came amid rising tensions over the Diaoyu Islands. The official said Japan has damaged bilateralties through its purchase of the Diaoyu Islands.
He added that the two countries should develop sound relations on the basis of mutual respect.
