英语翻译：The road to the downtown area is in repair
此句不能翻译成：通往市中心的马路现正在修理中。如果要表达此意，应该说：The road leading to the downtown area is under repair.
in repair和under pair的涵义并不相同，前者的意思为：in good condition，保存良好，修理完好，相当于in good repair;后者的意思为：在修理中。Repair也可以用复数形式，如under repairs，其义相当于in course of repair。
下面请看例子：
This building is in repair.
这幢楼已修好了。
This building is under repair.
这幢楼在修理中。
