President Xi Jinping's state visit to the United Kingdom will seemore than£30 billion ($46.41 billion) worth of trade andinvestment deals completed,
creating in excess of 3,900 jobsacross the country, according to the British
embassy in Beijing.
据英国驻华使馆的消息，习近平主席对英国国事访问期间，双方将签署超过300亿英镑(约合2948亿元人民币)的贸易投资协议，为英国创造超过3900个工作岗位。
The visit will also open export opportunities for UK companies looking to
expand into China andattract Chinese investment into the regions. The Northern
Powerhouse will get a boost as China isexpected to announce further investment
into the region when British Prime Minister DavidCameron and the president visit
Manchester at the end of the week.
本次访问还将为准备进入中国市场的英国企业拓宽出口机会，吸引中国对英国地区的投资。习近平主席将在本周后期与英国首相卡梅伦一同访问曼彻斯特，届时中国将宣布加大对这一地区的投资，推动“北方动力”计划。
The Northern
Powerhouse，国内媒体多译为“北方经济引擎”或者“北方动力”计划，是由英国现任财政大臣乔治·奥斯本在2014年率先提出的。
“北方动力”计划指一系列促进英格兰北部经济发展的计划(a proposal to boost economicgrowth in the North
of England)，比如，增强交通互联(improvement to transportlinks)、增加科技创新投资(investment in
science and innovation)以及下放城市协议中的权力(devolution of powers in City
Deals)等。计划中的核心城市包括：利物浦、曼彻斯特、利兹和谢菲尔德，旨在以大城市群(urban
agglomeration)为基础，将英国的经济重心从伦敦和东南部进行转移(rebalance the UK economy away from London
