压倒性优势 landslide
台湾地区领导人选举22日举行了投票。中国国民党籍候选人马英九、萧万长获胜，得票765.87万张，得票率为58.45%;民进党籍候选人谢长廷、苏贞昌得票544.52万张，得票率为41.55%。Taiwan's main opposition Kuomintang party won the island's leadership election by a landslide on Saturday, figures released by election authorities showed.
根据选务机构发布的数据显示，作为台湾主要在野党的国民党周六以压倒性优势赢得了台湾地区领导人选举。
该报道中，landslide指an overwhelming electoral victory(压倒性优势的选举胜利)，这个词另外的意思是a slide of a large mass of dirt and rock down a mountain or cliff (“山崩”或“山体滑坡”)，与landslip同义;snowslide就是“雪崩”， mudslide 是“泥石流”。
