Experts have classified him as a "hyperpolyglot", making him part of a small, exclusive group of individuals who can master a language in very short period of time.专家将他列为精通多国语言的“语言狂人”之一，这一独特而又稀少的群体成员能在非常短的时间内掌握一门语言。
Doner came into limelight after he started posting his videos, gathering several thousand hits from people who also encouraged him to further showcase his unique talent.视频开始贴出后多纳成为了关注焦点，视频得到了数千位网友的点击，人们还鼓励多纳更多地展示这一独特才能。
Languages caught his interest for the first time when he started learning Hebrew, gaining proficiency in it within a week, the Huffington Post reported.《赫芬顿邮报》报道称，多纳最初在学习希伯来语时开始对语言产生兴趣，他在一周内就熟练掌握了这门语言。
Doner practices his language skills in the real-world by speaking with New York City cab drivers, interacting with others at restaurants and connecting with people around the world via e-mail and Skype, it said.报道还说，多纳是在真实的语言环境中练习的，他与纽约市出租车司机交谈，和餐馆里的人对话，还通过邮件及Skype与世界各地的人们交流。
