China gave a warm welcome Friday to Burma's president on his first official
trip since his country installed a nominally civilian government.
President The in Sein is due to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao
Friday. The two are expected to sign agreements on technical and economic
cooperation.
Thein Sein arrived in Beijing Thursday for a three-day visit expected to
deal with sensitive trade and security issues. He will also meet with Premier
Wen Jiabao.
China's official Xinhua news agency said Thein Sein is accompanied on the
trip by a dozen cabinet ministers and senior military officers.
