【范文】
As the pace of life quickens in modern society, one has less time and fewer
opportunities to conduct face-to-face communication and a mounting number of
people are turning to writing in the form of emails and computer files.
Consequently, the ability of writing is playing an increasingly vital role in
our daily life.
As far as I am concerned, two main reasons could be found to illustrate the
significance of writing ability. On the one hand, those who have a remarkable
ability of writing are more likely to be enrolled by their ideal high schools
and universities, since this ability is a basic requirement in all our entrance
examinations. On the other hand, this desirable ability proves to be the
foundation for achieving success in the modern job market. For example, my
brother showed strong interest in writing and made persistent efforts to develop
this ability during his college life. Thanks to his excellent writing skills, he
succeeded in obtaining a position requiring writing ability in a famous company
after graduation and was promoted after only two years of work.
In a word, the ability of writing is of utmost importance to achieving
excellent performance both in our education and work. Therefore, it is
imperative for college students-the backbone of our society-to take an active
part in relevant competitions and activities to cultivate this indispensable
ability.
