　　A teacher is someone who input knowledge into students’ minds，arouse
students’ inventive thinking and stimulate students to succeed. And parents are
the first teachers of us, they stay with us the longest, and they are considered
the best teachers of us. As far as I am concerned parents are excellent teachers
that they spare no effort to teach us knowledge and they know how to teach us in
the most efficient way, but they are not the best one owing to parents’ bad
behaviors, and the lack of certain knowledge.
        　　First of all, as individuals, parents more or less have some bad behaviors,
it become even worse that all children tend to unconsciously or subconsciously
imitate everything including bad ones from their parents. For instance, last
week I was doing some shopping with my mother in a store nearby. On our way back
home we saw a beggar sitting in the corner asking for money. My mother pretended
to ignore him and just walked away. A few days later, while I was playing with
friends and saw another beggar, I ignored him, although I know I am not right.
That examples shows how enormously do parents influence us.
        　　Admittedly, no parents are able to be professional in all fields. When
their children are in elementary schools, it is not surprising to see that some
parents are capable of teaching their children in every subject even better than
professional teachers. Notwithstanding as their children grow older, they will
be unable to teach their children all, though they may be expert in several
fields. Wise parents often release rather than charge their children as early as
possible. They are aware of the possibility outside the family. However,
considering the above flaws, we must say that parents are good teachers but not
the best.
        　　Concession granted, parents may help their children much more than do good
teachers. Parents almost distinctively devote themselves to cultivating their
offspring. Psychology studies have shown that parents’ love sometimes has
astonishingly magic power to their children. Moreover, parents know us much
better than anyone else and always give pertinent advices. However, the good
impact the parents give the children cannot be equal to those of a professional
teachers offer us.
        　　In brief, it is rather superficial to simply say that parents are the best
teachers. We should learn good qualities from our parents, and when parents make
mistakes, it is a good idea to remember not to make the same mistakes.
