Poke
To poke means to push with something sharp or pointed. What or who is poking? What or who is being poked? What will be the outcome?
This week's topic: They were poking... (90-110 words)
Suggestions:
1) poke at one's own food
2) poking someone sitting nearby
3) poke fun at somebody
4) poke the logs in the fireplace with a metal stick
5) Instead of writing a scenario, feel free to comment on the story below.

How boring, Al thought. As expected, the reporter was asking him the same questions Al thought he would ask. When giving his answers, Al tried to slip in as many hints as he could. Well, as a reporter, he should be able to figure it out, Al thought as his mind wandered to the dinner engagement he was to have. The reporter was definitely poking around; he could be a problem or he could be a helping hand. At this point, Al could not tell, but he would like to keep his options open.
