　　在上面的报道中，advance to the next round就是指比赛中选手“晋级”。选手在最初参赛时，要通过第一关first/initial audition(海选)，也就是要survive the first audition，闯关成功才可以advance to the next round / advance in the contest(晋级)。有时主办方还采用internet audition(网络海选)的方式来启动比赛。
　　这样的比赛中，选手要经过一轮一轮的talent show(才艺展示)，设法赢得expert panel(专家团队)和audience(观众)以及fans(粉丝)的认可，才有可能进入不同层级的final competition(终极对决)。
