　　1月28日，第六届亚冬会在长春市五环体育馆举行了隆重的开幕式。开幕式上，中国花样滑冰名将赵宏博任旗手，率领中国体育代表团入场。本届亚运会中国代表团由160人组成，将参加亚冬会5大项10分项47小项的全部比赛。

　　显然，报道中的“flag-bearer ”就是我们常说的“旗手”，bearer由动词bear(肩负、扛、抬)演变而来。在商务英语中，bearer还可指“(证券的)不记名的，持有人有权自由转让的”，如：bearer B/L(不记名提单)，bearer bond(无记名债券)。
　　值得一提的是，国外很少有专一的称谓来形容“护旗手”，更没有国内误译而来的“flag-protector”这种说法。“护旗手”一般视情况而定，大致有“soldier，officer，athlete，sports organization representatives”等表达。
　　此外，了解一个常识：中国代表团参加历届夏季奥运会的旗手均由男篮队员担任。2004年雅典奥运会，中国代表团由姚明担任旗手。2000年悉尼奥运会，中国代表团由刘玉栋担任旗手，他是目前唯一一个在两届奥运会中担任中国代表团旗手的运动员。
