　　The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will offer a great legacy for China, Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee , said yesterday on the eve of theone-year countdownto the world's greatest sporting event.

　　报告中的“one-year countdown ”指的就是“倒计时一周年”。
　　“Countdown”在此指“倒读数阶段”，前面可根据具体情况添加相应的数字，如：a ten-second countdown(倒数十秒)。
　　“Countdown”相应的动词词组为to count down，看例句：The final seconds before takeoff were counted down: 10, 9, 8, etc.(起飞进入倒计时阶段：10，9，8……)
