Thousands of pots of flowers are decorating Tian'anmen Square, to celebrate China's 56th National Day, which falls on October 1.
These flowers have been formed several patterns, featuring different themes, including Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and harmonious society.
In addition, there are 200 thousand flowers along the Chang'an avenue which runs East-West through the heart of Beijing. About one million followers adorn parks and two millions are decorating other streets, plazas and residential areas.
Reports say that compared to last year's celebrations, the cost of flowers is cheaper, estimated less than 20 million yuan, or about 2.46 million US dollars. The withdrawal of flowers is partly dependant on weather conditions.
