Prolonged Inactivity means something has not moved around for a long time. Who or what has gone through a period of prolonged inactivity? What is the reason? Will the person or the thing be active soon?

His head hurt; he felt foggy. For a brief moment, he had not idea who he was or what he was doing. It took him a moment to take in his surroundings. Messaging his temples as he sat up, he found himself sitting at his desk in his office. The room was still fairly dim as the sun had barely started to rise. The computer screen in front of him was on energy-saving mode due to prolonged inactivity. When he realized how dry his throat felt, he reached for his water bottle. The movement disturbed the move, causing the dormant screen to spring alive.
