近期报道称，日本即将修建磁悬浮高速铁路系统，其计划修建工期竟长达31年（工程由多期构成，仅一期工程就耗时13年）。反观我国，中国的高铁项目修建时长仅为2年7个月。

1、你怎么看待这种“大跃进式”的发展速度？

Like the high-speed railway system, China seems to be a country that is always in a hurry. We built a 1,318km high-speed railway line within 3 years at the expense of $34 billion. And we also managed to build a sleek and modern hotel in a week, which hit the headline of medias from all over the world. However, do we really need such an astonishing speed to do everything? In my point of view, sometimes, it sounds ridiculous to push an engineering project in this speed, for it might jeopardise the safety as well as quality. Therefore, our government should realise that it is necessary to 'slow down' a little bit and must perform a delicate balancing act between the speed and quality.
范例2：
The time to develop magnetic levitation technology for high-speed rail highly depends on the availability of transferred technology. In order to build the system domestically, completely from scratch, a lot of time and resources are needed. If a country is able to import the technology, and make adaptations and modifications upon it, the country can make leaps in building its system. Without a doubt, China has ambitious plans to expand its railroad system; the expansion has been exponential in recent years. At the same time, the chase after speed is not the only goal, it is important to remain cautious and to factor in safety and environmental concerns.
