        Moonlight Shadow 《月光之影》　据说，这首1983年问世的曲子原是为纪念甲壳虫乐队（The Beatles）被枪杀的主唱约翰·列侬（John Lennon）而作。 1980年12月8日，马克·查普曼伪装成一个歌迷，在列侬的公寓旁边徘徊了很久。那天晚上，当列侬从录音棚返回家中的时候，查普曼请列侬在他的签字本上签名。当时他内心曾进行过激烈的斗争，但最后仍然举起手枪朝着列侬的后背连开了5枪。 和Moonlight Shadow中所写的“He was shot six times by a man on the run”类似。 但看了原版的MTV之后，这首歌应该和John Lennon的被刺并没有直接联系，似乎男主角死于一场决斗中，这倒象是普希金，但不知道普希金的妻子娜达丽亚会不会这样来怀念他。
        这首歌的歌词曾经一直被认为是指约翰·列侬的谋杀案的，然而歌曲中的事件和列侬谋杀案并无关系。列侬是在晚11点前被射四枪，而歌曲中的时间是凌晨四点，且枪击数为六。在1995年的一次采访中，当被问及《Moonlight Shadow》是否是指代约翰·列侬谋杀案时，欧菲尔德回应道：
        “并非如此……当然，当我回顾的时候，也许是吧。其实我是在他被枪杀的那个可怕的晚上到达纽约的，我住在维京唱片在佩里街的房子，那儿里事发的从达科他大厦仅有几条街的路，所以它可能深埋于我的潜意识当中了。它最初灵感来自于我喜爱的电影——托尼·柯蒂斯主演的《胡迪尼》，这是通过灵媒联络死去的胡迪尼……歌曲原来的影响本该如此，而这其他影响却是我未曾想到的。”
