        《昼与夜》（Day & Night）这支短片是今年迪士尼/皮克斯动画长片《玩具总动员3》的加映片，只可惜并未随着《玩具总动员3》一起引进中国。
        讲述的是个性非常阳光的“昼”遇到了情绪低沉的陌生人“夜”，一开始他们对对方都充满了怀疑和恐惧，很快就把事情给搞糟了，但随着对彼此了解的加深，他们也很快发现了对方身上独特的品质，并意识到他们两个其实只是同一个世界的两个不同窗口，成为朋友的昼与夜开始对世界有了全新的认识。
        When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other's unique qualities--and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world-the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.
        这部动画短片和皮克斯以前的动画短片都不一样，它不是纯粹的电脑CG动画，也不是纯粹的传统手绘风格，而是有机的把这两种风格结合在了一起：具体说来，“昼”和“夜”这两个角色是二维平面的，而透过他们的身体看到的景物全都是电脑CG动画。
        短片中出现一段仅有的电波对白，据导演泰迪·纽顿透露，这其实是著名美国作家韦恩·戴尔博士（Dr. Wayne Dyer）在1970年讲座时的一段实录，其要表达的主题和著名科学家爱因斯坦的一段演说很相似。原文如下：
        Fear of the unknown. They are afraid of new ideas. They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon anything in reality, but based on… if something is new, I reject it immediately because it’s frightening to me. What they do instead is just to stay with the familiar. You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious.
        对未知的恐惧，令他们害怕新的想法。他们满载着偏见，并非基于任何现实，而是基于……只要是新事物，便立刻排斥，因为觉着它可怕。他们所做的，就是只接触熟悉的事物。而正如你们所知，对我而言，整个宇宙中最最美丽的事物，恰恰是最最神秘的。
