剧情介绍：
　　十二年前一个月光温柔夜晚，在华盛顿广场一个房顶上大提琴手Lyla Novacek(凯丽·拉塞尔饰演)和爱尔兰创作歌手Louis Connelly(乔纳森·莱斯·梅耶斯饰演)同时被一位街头艺人所演唱的“月亮舞曲”所打动，两人同有着音乐人浪漫的情怀，共享着音乐的语言，在当时那样唯美的环境中，两人不可避免的坠入了爱河。在经历了浪漫一夜之后Lyla答应会再次见面。但父亲却不顾Lyla的反对仓促的将Lyla赶往下一个演出的城市。没有等到Lyla的Louis以为Lyla欺骗了自己而心灰意冷。失去了Lyla之后Louis仿佛丢失了灵魂一样，他发现自己的音乐宇宙已经开始萎缩，变得苍白无力，最后他终于放弃了一生追求的音乐。而Lyla在那夜云雨后即怀上了身孕，但孩子刚一出世就被Lyla的父亲给了别人。后来Lyla伤心的听到孩子死在了一场车祸中——但事实上他却没有死。
　　就这样过去了很多年，两个人谁都不知道事实的真相……

　　为了寻找父母他只身一人来到纽约，在那里他被街头卖艺少年的吉他声所吸引，并跟着他来到了一帮流浪少年的庇护所——一座废弃的剧院。在那还居住着10几个和他一样无依无靠的小孩。一个好心的黑人Wizard(罗宾·威廉斯饰演)保护着这些小孩。那天夜晚，少年第一次拿起了吉他，即兴的弹拨显示出了他超凡的音乐天赋，Wizard当即被这种天赋所深深的震撼了，他决定不能埋没少年这样难得的天赋，并给他取了一个名字——August Rush。从那以后August Rush与Wizard就一起走上了四处表演、学习的音乐之路。这对于Wizard来说仅仅是一个事业，而对于August这更是他寻找父母的机会。
