        A: How was your trip to Las Vegas?
        B: We had a great time going to shows and gambling all night. It’s hard to come home; Kansas City seems pretty tame by comparison.
        A: 在拉斯维加斯玩得好吗？
        B: 我们整晚看表演、赌博，开心极了。真不想回去。相比之下堪萨斯市就显得沉闷乏味了。

        A: I’ve been waiting all my life to study with Dr. Newton.
        B: Well, you’re going to be disappointed to find that although his books are interesting, his lectures are quite tedious. He talks in a monotone, repeats himself, and usually ends class a half-hour late.
        A: 一直以来我都很想听Newton博士的课。
        B: 那你会失望的。他写的书挺有意思，可他的课却又臭又长。他说话的声音单调，爱重复，还常推迟半小时下课。

        tedious: 单调乏味的；令人生厌的；罗嗦的。
