In many cultures, where people go to college and what degrees they hold are serious matters that affect job prospects and social standing. 在众多文化里，人们在哪儿读的大学、拿的什么学位是非同小可的事情，这关乎到工作前景和社会地位。
1.Hold：拿着；持有；举行
例如：I still hold to my views.（我仍然坚持自己的意见。）
2.Affect：影响
例如：However, you have to consider other factor that affect sale.（然而，你得考虑影响销售的其他因素。）
3.Prospects：（成功、收益等的）可能性；（经济、地位等的）前景
例如：I see little prospect of an improvement in his condition.（我看他的情况没有什么改进的希望。）
4.Standing：身分；地位；名望
例如：He is a person of high standing.（他是位有着很高地位的人。）

1.Overwhelming：（感情）极强烈的；压倒性的；势不可挡的

3.Speechless：说不出来的；非言语能表达的
